Hello again and a merry Christmas from all of us at Melon games.
Today I am here to discuss the release of "Belt Barons" Demo that released earlier this year as well as plans for the studio going forward into next year. I would also like to thank everyone who attended GAMAYO and gave the game some great feedback. All the feedback is very useful to us as developers, so if you’ve played any of our games, you can give feedback on the email admin@melongames.co.uk.
The “Belt Barons” demo has already received some great feedback, and we have already acted on much of it. It’s great to see people are downloading and enjoying the game. In the new year I plan to improve the campaign by adding many new features, here are a few:
- Expanding the space stations to make them feel different
- Allow you to buy and sell weapons and items
- Upgrades to your spaceship
- Different objectives
I also plan on improving gameplay once on the planets, with new features including:
- More weapons and items
- More terrain types
- Allowing you to equip your units with items and weapons
All these features should add more variety and fun into the game. I hope to release the update in early April next year alongside our first development update on the website outlining the combat on the asteroids. After this, the demo shall conclude and we’ll begin working on content for the main game, most excitingly online multiplayer. Further website updates will be made in the summer outlining the new features and plans for the future.
We are also continuing to work on another new game in development and it’s still very much in the early stages. we will tell you more when we feel ready, for now sit tight.
In other news, we have now gained Game Republic membership which is a great video game industry network. It has already gained us access to so many opportunities and we would like to thank them for all the support they have already given us.
